The Ballet Arts Centre's
performing group
The
most advanced level dancers at the BAC decided they would like
to have more opportunities to perform. In 2005 the decision was
made to form a dance company, ‘Contemporary Motion’ to
allow then to do just that. Through their dedication, hard work,
time and training these dancers succeeded in increasing their
performance skills and choreography skills. They were encouraged
to create their own choreography and were allowed to perform
their work when appropriate.
In September when classes begin, we create a touring show. We
perform for nursing homes, city events, and we raise money in
order to have venue performances.
Not only the dancer's dedication but the dedication of teachers,
parents and volunteers have allowed ‘Contemporary Motion’ to
grow in strength. It is our hope that these young dancers will
inspire other younger dancers to work hard in class, so that
they too will someday be chosen to perform with the touring company ‘Contemporary
Motion’.
In 2008 younger students ages ten - twelve will be introduced
as an apprentice group. They will be auditioned so that the quality
of dance remains at the highest standards.
We hope being a part of ‘Contemporary Motion’ will
inspire greatness both on stage and off.
